Tiny changes


I've been thinking about the impact of tiny changes.

Tiny words.

Tiny exercises.

Tiny mindset shifts that impact the rest of the day.


It started on a cold, winter day. The wood bin was empty. The wood stove needed loading. "I HAVE to bring in wood". UGH I thought. UGH I felt. I'd really much rather sit on the couch with the dogs at my feet with a cup of tea.

Then: I wonder what it would be if I said instead: "I GET to bring in wood".

Huh! Suddenly, my mind went to all the sweet things about how I LOVE the coziness of the wood stove, how the dogs will LOVE being outside a bit, how the fresh air feels so good. How my back is strong, body healthy. Huh! I GET to bring in wood.

That one word. It changed my thoughts, feelings, mood, and the whole picture.

That one keeps coming back to me.

Other ones: "I CAN'T" to "I can't YET"

"I don't know" to "I'm learning"


Tiny exercises: not huge work outs. Ya, ok, I KNOW those are good too, but some days it doesn't happen. Things I CAN do every day are the TINY exercises: the arm circles while the water in the shower is warming up. The Cat/cow back arches in the shower before getting out. Tiny things that make a HUGE difference.


Simple mindset changes?

First thoughts waking up/going to bed.

For me: I've shared before, "I am safe, I trust the universe, I look for the miracles, I give/receive love" To start the day this way (before I pick up the phone) sets the stage for being curious and open.

At bedtime, looking back on the day-seeing how this simple statement played out. Its helping a LOT to stay present focused when the future is so uncertain.


This small exercise has impacted my clients in many ways. "I feel less anxious", "I realize my days are actually good", "I feel like something new might happen".


This is a taste of ProviderSpaceCoaching.

Its practical. Personal.

Its about exploring our repetitive thoughts that CAN change.

Its about embracing ALL of us: good, bad, ugly and beautiful and honoring the tapestry that is ours.

Weekly gatherings via zoom to explore clear headed days, know support and peel away some myths that the alcohol industry has fed us. Sick humor always welcome. Its for 30days! Not forever!
